Executive Team
President: Mary
-
Mary is a third year student in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences (IMS). She has been with the club since first year, and is very excited to be returning this year as the club’s president. This year, Mary hopes to bring in more optometry school representatives to talk about schools across the continent so club members can be informed about a greater variety of schools and have all their questions answered. When she’s not preoccupied with studying or managing club affairs, she loves to bake desserts and watch Grey’s Anatomy.

VP Communications - Charnjot
-
Charnjot is a fourth year student studying Biology and Medical Sciences. Like most university students, she is inseparable from her phone. However, she plans to use her social media savvy for a good cause: to increase the club’s media presence and keep members updated about club news though a great variety of platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Charnjot hopes to fill these forums not only with updates from the club, but also with optometry-related news, inspirational quotes, and viral stories (like the dress debate) to give club members a holistic appreciation of field of vision science. Charnjot especially loves reading about eye-related research, so she’ll be sure to post about neat findings in the field and facts that you can use to impress your friends and family!

VP Finance - Lisa
-
Lisa is a fourth year Physiology and Psychology double major, and is happy to be serving her second year as VP Finance of the Pre-Optometry club. Her main goal is to apply for USC grants and manage the club’s budget to properly support its many events throughout the year. Besides optometry, Lisa’s number one passion is to travel. Her dream after graduating from optometry school is to travel the world, volunteering for optometry clinics around the globe to provide eye care for those who cannot afford it.
VP Events - Stephanie
Stephanie is a third year student working on her Psychology degree. Being part of several clubs on campus, Stephanie loves to get involved with student events and volunteering opportunities. This year, she hopes to collaborate with other clubs to introduce a wide variety of team building and volunteering activities, as well as club socials so members can get to know each other better throughout the year. Stephanie is very passionate about volunteering in the community, which is why she's very excited to look for new opportunities to get the club involved in giving back to the community, especially in a way pertaining to health and vision care.

VP Web Development - Jenny
-
Jenny is a fourth year student pursing an Honors Specialization in IMS along with a Certificate in Professional Communications. She loves all things creative, from poetry to Pinterest to puns (yes, puns), and is always open to try new things. The idea for the Pre-Optometry website bloomed from an assignment from her web writing class, and while Jenny is still exploring all that website development has to offer, she is very pleased to be able to lend her skills in creating a centralized, organized hub of information, accessible to all members of the club. Jenny is committed to making your road to optometry school smoother, so if you have questions about the site, suggestions for new material, or any feedback in general, don't hesitate to get in touch!
